Job Description

The Children's Ministry Director (CMD) shall be a person called to the ministry of education as

part of the overall ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church. This position has flexible hours,

but must include Sunday mornings, religious holidays (including Easter, Christmas Eve, and Ash

Wednesday). A candidate for this position will demonstrate faith in Christ, who is dedicated to

living the life of faith, and has a deep commitment to Christian service.

The Children’s Ministry Director will:

 Develop and administer Christian education for the children of the congregation.

 Support, guide, and train the laity in the church, equipping them to participate in the

ministries of the church.

 Participate in the church council, coordinating Children’s Ministry with the overall

ministry of the church

Terms:

1. Hours: Flexible, to include Sunday mornings. Average of 10-12 hours per week.

2. Salary Range: $10,000-$12,000 per year.

3. Vacation: 2 weeks of vacation per year, to include no more than 2 Sundays, and 20 hours

of PTO.

4. Training: CMD will complete Safe Gatherings Training and accompanying background

check every 3 years. Maintain certification in CPR and AED.

5. Accountability: CMD is a vital part of the leadership of Trinity UMC. CMD is directly

accountable to the pastor and has a collaborative relationship with SPRC. An annual

review will be initiated and documented by pastor and SPRC.
