Deputy Leader Sue Rezin has been serving as the Senator for the 38th Senate District in the Illinois State Senate since 2010. In 2021, she was appointed as the Deputy Minority Leader for the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus.


Currently, Deputy Leader Rezin is working as the Minority Spokesperson for the Senate Early Childhood Education Committee, and she is also a member of the Senate Executive, Education, Energy and Public Utilities, and Health and Human Services committees. She is also a member of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.


On a national level, Deputy Leader Rezin serves on the Board of Directors for the National Foundation for Women Legislators’ (NFWL) and was recently elected as the Board’s next President. She is also an active participant in the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), where she is serving on the Task Force on Energy Supply.


Deputy Leader Rezin holds a degree in International Business and Political Science with a minor in Hispanic Studies from Augustana College. Additionally, she is a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government's Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program.
